As a newly elected board member she has volunteered to take on the

Transportation Portfolio in addition to being Secretary. We are underg

oing numerous changes in our community with respect to the Rocky Ridge

Road closure and the LRT Extension. We will also be welcoming a new K-4

school in our community in September 2010 which will result in additional

utilization of our pathways, sidewalks and streets as students and parents

travel to and from school. We have a wonderful community in which to

reside and she wishes to assist in ensuring that transportation issues are

brought forward to the appropriate stakeholders in order to ensure a safe

community for our residents.

Aside from career and community involvement, her family enjoys travelling,

downhill skiing, skating, mountain biking and spending time at the cottage

in the summer. She looks forward to working with the Board of Directors to

ensure our community stays a great place to live and raise our children.

Karen Beagle lives in Royal Oak with her husband Mike, and children

Kennedy, Jordan and Riley. Drawing from her work experience in marketing,

project management, and public relations, Karen played a leading role in

recruiting and organizing a RRRO Public School Committee last summer.

The PSC addresses current high school designation issues, advocates for

Jim Teakles has also just recently moved to Calgary with is wife Huijuan, (Julie) from China. Jim after spending 2 years in Saskatoon, teaching Medical Diagnastic Imaging, is now employed with Radiology Consultants Associated at the Westbrook Clinic in Calgary. Jim has earned a B.Sc. in Medical Imaging and a Masters Certificate in E-Commerce / Website Design.

Jim is originally from New Brunswick, has a long history of community involvement and service. Most noteworthy was time spent with the Halifax Police Department's Youth Program, and at the age of 17 received the Gold award from the Duke of Edinborough in St. Johns NFLD. This was also for community service and is the highest award for a youth, that is presented by Royality.

Jim is also a former service member and veteran of the Bosnia-Herzagovenia war. After seeing much devastion and corruption in this society, Jim has decided to focus much attention towards the community setting. His last achievement was to raise money for The Prostate Cancer Society of Alberta, and grew a beard for 1 month to raise the money.

Very technically minded and computer literate, Jim has taken on the role of Webmaster for the Community Association's website. So you will be seeing lots of improvements, and modifications.
